I really like seeing more media interest in the concept around blogging in business. I noticed Scoble's post about the growing interest in business blogs lately, with both Fast Company and Business 2.0 writing about the trend. The interesting thing to me after talking with the reporter from Fast Company was the very honest attempt to understand what was really happening and analyze why it was different from many other over-hyped technologies.
We discussed how it was necessary to separate the technology from the content to better grasp why this is interesting. Now, I am not so sure. The impact its having on politics may be just the tip of the iceberg. Could it be that the evolving technology around weblogs is a direct outgrowth of its "political" content? Could it be that as businesses adopt a more weblog-centric view (less hierarchical and more network based) of their organizations, the technology will evolve around those patterns?
