I have been asked some questions lately having to do with the direction of UserLand and its release plans.  Though I have spoken to many of you personally, I thought it would be good to provide an ongoing dialogue through my blog.

Question: what does the schedule for releases look like for 2004?

UserLand has just started ramping up and will have a new release roughly every 4 months.  News bits are always here. To get things started, In the next couple of weeks we are going to be announcing Manila 9.0.1 ñ its an interim release that may not be interesting to existing users, but will be really important to new users. The 9.0.1 release will make it much easier to install and setup Manila.  Its important because first impressions last and we want the initial experience to be flawless.

As most everyone is aware, we are working towards an enterprise version of Manila.  The next step in the process will be the 9.1 release scheduled for spring of this year.  It will have  significant feature enhancements as well as low level stability and performance improvements.

Lots more on the way...
