Lawrence also noted that disabling comments on a per post basis should prevent someone with a spam robot from posting a comment on that post.
There is also the side issue of Radio comment spam. It's seems that its mostly coming from a single source (using multiple IPs that seem to change on a daily basis) so we are looking into blocking / removing messages based on IP for the time being.
