RSS Neighborhood -- I participated in the discussion for the RSS Neighborhood event this morning and was pleased to see a number of participants eager to exchange ideas on how RSS can be used in the corporate environment. The discussion largely broke into internal vs. external corporate use with the general feeling that internal use would happen before widespread external application.
On whether corporations should create RSS news feeds in addition to their existing communication channels -- the answer was generally yes. Several in the group felt that the existing channels including email were worn out and RSS is driving what many felt was a more effective mechanism for communication.
Several in the group cautioned that we are still in the early stages of adoption and felt that full adoption will occur when P&G uses RSS to market to consumers. The tools are still too complex for non-technical users. There were lots of great product ideas around RSS on this topic. More later.
